Introducing Auto Payments: A New Feature for ORES & PWA Reservations

We are excited to introduce an innovative feature designed to streamline payment processing for ORES (Online Reservation and E-commerce Solution) and PWA (Passenger Web App) reservations—Auto Payments. This update allows operators to automate credit card authorization and capture, saving time and enhancing security for every transaction. 

Key Benefits of Auto Payments 

The Auto Payments feature is set to transform your daily operations in the following ways: 

1. Time Efficiency: No more manual processing of payments, freeing up valuable time and reducing administrative work. 

2. Seamless Payment Collection: Automates the authorization and capture process, ensuring payments are collected promptly and securely. 

3. Enhanced Fraud Prevention: By automating the verification of credit card details, the system minimizes fraudulent transactions and protects your business. 

How Does It Work? 

Auto Payments can be activated for reservations booked through ORES or PWA, provided you  have been added to our Early Adopter Program: To become an early adopter and gain access to this exciting new functionality, simply contact our support team by phone or email, and have the following settings configured: 

1. Enable Auto Accept New Reservations: Ensure that "Auto Accept New Reservations" is set to Yes in: 

• My Office → Company Settings → Online Reservations → ORES & Mobile → Rules. 

2. Calculate and Display Pricing to Customers: This must be enabled in: 

• My Office → Company Settings → Online Reservations → ORES & Mobile. 

Once these settings are in place, you will have access to the new Enable Auto Payments setting, which provides three options: 

• Yes, Authorization Only: Authorizes the reservation amount based on your company’s preferences. This option verifies that funds are available without charging the card immediately. 

• Yes, Authorize & Capture: Automates the entire transaction process, from verifying the cardholder's funds to capturing and transferring the payment to your account. 

• No: Keeps the payment process manual. 

The auto payment feature also extends to “Quote Convert.” This Limo Anywhere functionality allows operators to seamlessly turn a quote into an actual trip. When a customer receives a quote link and provides their credit card details, the auto payment system activates if the operator has enabled auto payments. This ensures that the payment is automatically processed as soon as the customer confirms their reservation, streamlining the booking process and securing the payment upfront. Deep Dive into Auto Payment Options 

1. Authorization Only 

When you select “Authorization Only,” the system will: 

• Verify if the cardholder has sufficient funds. 

• Set aside the transaction amount temporarily until it is captured or the authorization expires. 

• Protect your business by ensuring the transaction's legitimacy and reducing the likelihood of fraudulent bookings. 

Note: The duration of the authorization hold can vary based on the type of transaction, your merchant settings, and the card issuer's policies. 

2. Authorize & Capture 

This option combines the authorization and capture processes, which means: 

• The card is verified for sufficient funds. 

• The total amount is automatically charged and transferred from the customer’s account to yours, ensuring immediate payment. 

This fully automated process ensures that you receive payment without delay, further optimizing your cash flow. 

3. No Pricing Available 

If no pricing is returned (e.g., the system cannot calculate a rate), the auto-payment feature is bypassed, and the reservation will require manual payment processing. This ensures that customers are not charged incorrectly and can contact support for pricing assistance if needed. 

Additional Notes: 

• Auto Payments settings can be customized for different company aliases, giving you flexibility based on your operational needs. 

• This feature currently does not support Stripe and Square gateways for PWA reservations, so we recommend using other payment gateways compatible with Limo Anywhere.
